| Volunteer Achievement Award |

Volunteers may have visible changes as a result of their engagement with your organisation, but it is often difficult to say that one thing has changed significantly as changes may be subtle and very small. These changes are referred to as 'soft skills' and are often intangible and specific to the volunteers’ developmental needs and circumstances. Thus, we designed The Volunteer Achievement Award (VAA) to provide a quality framework to recognise the achievement of volunteers. The framework enables individuals to develop essential soft skills through voluntary work, which are recognised at three levels: Bronze, Silver and Gold. Volunteers receive a certificate upon successful completion at each Level, evidenced through a portfolio. The VAA process will be able to open new doors for your organisation, attracting volunteers from many different backgrounds, as well as empowering them. Being able to choose their own outcomes will develop a sense of ownership of their activities and learning. The whole process enables the volunteer to feel a sense of achievement, by recognising their individual contribution to activities and through the personal outcome identified.
